Tik tok tik tok.. Mothers' Day approaching nearer, much to my anticipation this year. As this year, I gain my status as a mother and thus eligible me to be celebrated. Well, this is my 1st year of motherhood.
Life was never the same since the birth of Chloe...
The most significant chances are I no longer get my 'whole night' sleep privilage. As parents, I bet you are in my shoes also. Routinely, she will wake up every two or three hours at night to be fed. Each section will take about 10-20 minutes before I can doze off again. That was the normal night. Sometimes, she just cry (without opening her eyes) and is the middle of the night! I need to comfort and slumber her. The longest ever took us 2 hours.
Since she was born, I hardly find time for myself. As a stay at home mother, I am her caretaker during days (and night). There is no more former comfort of hair washing at saloon, shopping, hanging out with girl friends and romantic eating out with my husband. Even on internet online shopping, I find myself browsing on those little dresses and toys.
As she still breastfeeding, I also control my diet. I don't really like fishy smell of those swimming creatures, but at the mean time, I still take it for her sake. I remind myself to get balance diet as she is wat I am eating..thats the saying. How enjoyable it is, if I can watch a movie from the beginning until the end munching my favourite titbits.
I realise how much she changes me and how much I love this girl.
Then , I remember a look of my mother who is in her late forties. She married early and without any good education. Though I can't remember vividly how I'm been taken care when I am small, I do remember her having to manage four of us with her never ending chore. Every wrinkle on her face mark the sacrifice for our family. She is my father's strong supporter too. She could have enjoy her womanhood but she prefer to cling with her four rascals.
As all her children are growing up, getting married and focussed on their own families, thanks for Mothers' Day declaration. It do remind us that she needs our attention now.
Happy Mothers' Day, beloved mama!
